Kael Ecord
RESEARCH ANALYST
Ecord is a recent graduate of the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, & Engineering at Indiana University, where he earned his Master of Science in Applied Data Science. He comes to SMARInsights with experience in CRM analysis, media and stats coordination research, and data engineering. His impressive technical skills give the team a competitive advantage to dig deep into data-driven insights that plot the future of the tourism industry.
Ecord is passionate about the connection between mathematics and sport and has involved himself in several related data analytics projects—including research to calculate optimal marathon pacing, a web app to provide WNBA shot chart visualizations, and an NCAA transfer portal analysis. Additionally, his experience in competitive running and data science helped him build a data visualization tool for the IU Indy Men’s Cross-Country team in preparation for the 2024 NCAA regionals. His data led to optimized team workouts and training strategies.
Kael is excited to gain new and valuable skills at SMARInsights while bringing his own unique knowledge to the team.
